These two can give you a headache if you think too much about it. When should we use “been” and when should we use “gone”? Let’s take a look. ‍

These two can give you a headache if you think too much about it. When should we use “been” and when should we use “gone”? Let’s take a look. 

Gone → use it when someone has left and is not there at the moment.
Like so:
“Jack has gone to the mall.” In other words, Jack is not there.

Been → use it when someone went somewhere and already returned.
“Jack has been to the mall.” That means Jack was at the mall but already returned.
